Handwoven in Nepal
Wool Pile on a Cotton Foundation
ID# J6280, 6x9

An optical illusion incorporating two distinct color ways of golden hues and sapphire blue.

Remarkable in that the infusion of gold over blue and/or blue over gold gives the illusion that one color has been woven over the other - though in reality the deeper tint of outer wool has been imposed within the diven area. A convept that very few weavers would consider.

The scope of the overall design has such a geometric rande which has been put in place by diagonal, vertical and horizontal appendages. The subtlety of color arrangement is so significant that one gets the feeling of golden glow against the midday sky and midnight blue.
