Introducing the exquisite Pakistani rug with a traditional Tabriz design, we proudly present a magnificent piece of artistry. This rug features an ivory background that beautifully complements the salmon border, creating a captivating contrast. Made of wool on cotton, it showcases the skillful craftsmanship of ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe.

The wool used in this rug is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, where the mountainous terrain naturally produces longer staple oily high-quality wool. This raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it is carefully hand-carted and hand-spun into carpet yarn. The rug is woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, giving it a cottage industry touch.

With an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug exhibits meticulous attention to detail. Its double wefted and heavily packed depressed warp weaving ensures exceptional durability, making it one of the sturdiest handwoven carpets available today. The centuries-old tradition of utilizing all-natural dye stuffs adds to the rug's timeless appeal.

Furthermore, this particular rug is mostly woven in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, known for its skilled weavers and higher knot count weaving. Each knot is meticulously tied using hand-spun, single ply pern knot yarn, reflecting the dedication and expertise involved in creating this masterpiece.

Measuring at 3'8" x 27'11", this rug impresses with its knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162, resulting in a staggering total of 2,377,448 individually hand-tied knots. Such meticulous craftsmanship ensures the rug's longevity and makes it an exceptional addition to any space.

Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of tradition and artistry with this Pakistani Tabriz rug. Experience the timeless beauty and durability that this new yet historically inspired rug has to offer.
