Introducing the Pakistani Tabriz Rug, showcasing a traditional design that will add a touch of elegance to any space. With a rustic background and a navy border, this rug features a vibrant red main color that commands attention. Crafted using high-quality materials, this rug boasts a new condition and is made of wool on cotton, ensuring both durability and comfort.

Originating from Pakistan, this rug embodies the artistry and craftsmanship of the ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain that produces longer staple oily wool ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and spinning to create carpet yarn. The weaving process takes place on traditional floor looms within the weavers' own homes, contributing to a cottage industry type of production.

Using an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug is meticulously handwoven with double wefting and a heavily packed depressed warp. These features ensure its exceptional durability, making it a long-lasting investment for any collector or rug enthusiast. The centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs used in this rug's creation add depth and richness to the design.

It is worth noting that this rug is mainly woven in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, where skilled weavers are known for their expertise in achieving higher knot counts. The hand-spun, single-ply pern knot yarn used in this rug further enhances its quality and craftsmanship.

The striking red color in this rug is derived from natural madder root dyes. Madder root, scientifically known as Rubia tinctorum, has been widely cultivated and used as a dyeing agent for centuries. These natural dyes produce warm and cool shades of red, orange, pink, and brown. By incorporating madder root dyes, this rug showcases the rich history and cultural significance of natural dyeing techniques.

The rug features a remarkable knots per square inch count of 162, which equates to a total of 2,356,158 individually hand-tied knots. This meticulous attention to detail ensures the rug's intricate design and durability.

Embrace the timeless beauty and exceptional craftsmanship of the Pakistani Tabriz Rug. Perfectly sized at 3'8" x 27'8", this rug is ready to grace your home with its exquisite design and heritage.
