Introducing our exquisite Afghani Oushak Transitional Rug, a true gem in our collection. This rug boasts a rich heritage, originating from Afghanistan and showcases the timeless Oushak design.

With a captivating teal background and a rust border, this rug effortlessly blends traditional and contemporary styles, making it perfect for any interior aesthetic. Crafted from high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, this rug ensures both comfort and durability.

Measuring 12'1" x 14'7", this statement piece is sure to command attention and elevate the ambiance of any room. The handwoven craftsmanship by ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, adds an extra touch of authenticity and uniqueness to this rug.

The Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain, provides the ideal conditions for cultivating longer staple, oily, and superior quality wool. The raw Ghazni wool is then meticulously brought to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is meticulously hand carted and spun into carpet yarn, ready for the weaving process.

Using traditional floor looms in their own homes, these skilled weavers employ an asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique. The result is a rug with an impressive knot count of 80 knots per square inch, totaling an astounding 2,005,437 individually hand-tied knots.

Centuries-old natural dyes are carefully used in creating the vibrant colors and patterns, ensuring the authenticity and charm of this rug. It is worth noting that most of these rugs are woven in Aqucha and Mazar Sharif, using 2-ply yarn per knot.

Our Afghani Oushak Transitional Rug is a true testament to the craftsmanship and cultural heritage of its weavers. Its timeless design and meticulous construction make it a valuable addition to any rug enthusiast's collection.
