Introducing our exquisite Afghan Mamluk Tribal Rug, meticulously crafted with a rich history and unrivaled craftsmanship.

Originating from Afghanistan, this rug showcases the skilled work of ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in its creation is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, renowned for its mountainous terrain that produces long-staple, high-quality wool.

The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and hand spinning into carpet yarn, ready for weaving.

Woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, this rug exemplifies the cottage industry type production, ensuring unparalleled attention to detail.

Featuring an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, this rug is constructed with a cotton warp and weft, and a lustrous wool pile. Its double wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique guarantees durability and longevity.

With a background in rustic rust, complemented by a light blue border and a vibrant red main color, this rug emanates a timeless aesthetic.

Constructed as a new rug, it boasts a harmonious fusion of tradition and contemporary craftsmanship. It is meticulously crafted with wool on cotton content, ensuring a luxurious and inviting texture.

Measuring at 5 '11" X 9 '0 ", its size is ideal for various spaces, adding a touch of elegance and warmth to any room.

Delving deeper into its intricate details, this rug showcases a remarkable knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162. Based on this calculation, we estimate that this masterpiece has a staggering 1,236,783 individually hand-tied knots.

The color blue in this rug is derived from natural indigo dye stuffs, sourced from the leaves of the indigo plant. These natural dyes have been used for thousands of years, showcasing their timeless beauty and vibrant hues across various cultures worldwide.

Furthermore, the mesmerizing red tones found in this rug stem from natural madder root dyes. Extracted from the roots of the madder plant, these dyes have a long history of being cultivated and utilized for their warm and cool red, orange, pink, and brown shades.

Immerse yourself in the rich heritage and impeccable craftsmanship of this Afghan Mamluk Tribal Rug. Its timeless beauty and unparalleled quality make it a truly remarkable addition to any space.
