Introducing our exquisite Afghani Mamluk tribal rug, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. This stunning rug showcases the rich heritage of traditional carpet weaving from Afghanistan.

Originating from the mountainous Ghazni Province in Southeast Afghanistan, this rug features wool sourced from the Esari Subtribe of ethnic Turkmen weavers. The region's terrain produces superior quality wool with longer staples, resulting in a luxurious feel and excellent durability.

The raw Ghazni wool is meticulously hand carted and spun into carpet yarn around Herat, on the western side of Afghanistan. Skilled artisans then use traditional floor looms in their own homes to weave this remarkable rug, adding to its authentic tribal character.

Featuring an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type on a cotton warp and weft, this rug showcases the finest craftsmanship. The double wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures exceptional durability, making this rug a long-lasting investment.

The captivating design of this rug follows the timeless Mamluk style, known for its intricate patterns and geometric motifs. Against a taupe background, the rust-colored border beautifully frames the central beige main color, creating a visually balanced and harmonious composition.

To achieve the vibrant and natural colors, centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs are used, adding to the rug's authentic charm. Each knot is tied by hand with utmost precision and care, resulting in a remarkable knots per square inch of 80. Calculating the KPSI, we estimate that this rug boasts a staggering 110,883 individually hand-tied knots.

With its generous size of 1'11" X 5'1", this rug is perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any space. Its soft wool pile on a cotton base ensures a comfortable and luxurious feel underfoot.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and craftsmanship of Afghan rug weaving with this exceptional Afghani Mamluk tribal rug. A treasure to behold, this rug is a testament to the dedication and skill of the talented artisans who created it.
