Introducing our extraordinary Afghani rug, featuring a captivating Harshang design, the epitome of tribal style. The exquisite background of this rug is adorned in an elegant ivory shade, while the border displays a stunning rust color, creating a harmonious contrast.

Originating from Afghanistan, this rug showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe. The pure wool used in this piece is sourced solely from sheep native to the Ghazni Province, renowned for producing longer staple, oily, and superior-quality wool, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is meticulously transported to the western region of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is carefully transformed into carpet yarn through the intricate process of hand carding and spinning.

Frequently woven in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, this rug is woven using the traditional floor looms present in the weavers' homes or cottage industries. Employing an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, the weavers skillfully intertwine cotton warp and weft with an all-wool pile. The double-wefted construction, along with the densely packed depressed warp weaving, ensures the utmost durability, making this handwoven carpet resilient for generations to come.

Embracing the ancient traditions of carpet dyeing, this rug is adorned with centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, creating an enchanting color palette that has withstood the test of time.

With a KPSI (knots per square inch) of 104, our meticulous calculations reveal an impressive total of 472,975 individually hand-tied knots in this remarkable rug.

Perfectly sized at 4'10" x 6'7", this new rug, constructed with wool on cotton, is a testament to the exceptional artistry and unparalleled expertise of Afghan rug weavers.
