Introducing an exquisite rug from Afghanistan, this piece showcases the traditional Afghan Village design, reflecting the authentic tribal style. The background of this rug features a deep navy tone, beautifully complemented by a rust-colored border. The main color is a rich blue, creating a stunning visual contrast.

Crafted using a combination of wool and cotton, this rug boasts the durability and comfort that come with these quality materials. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, an area known for its ideal conditions for producing high-quality wool. The raw Ghazni wool is carefully selected and transported to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it is hand carted and spun into carpet yarn.

Woven on traditional floor looms by skilled Afghan weavers, this rug follows the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type. Its construction features a cotton warp and weft with an all-wool pile, resulting in a double-wefted and heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique, ensuring its exceptional durability.

Paying homage to centuries-old traditions, this rug is dyed using all-natural dye stuffs. The captivating blue color is derived from natural indigo dye, sourced from the leaves of the indigo plant. This dye has a long history, dating back thousands of years, and has been revered for its ability to produce vibrant blue hues.

With a knot count of 80 knots per square inch, this rug showcases the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into its creation. Based on this knot count, we estimate that there are approximately 27,266 individually hand-tied knots in total.

Measuring at 1'3" x 1'11", this rug is ideal for adding a touch of Afghan heritage and tribal charm to any space. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Afghan craftsmanship with this stunning piece.
