Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and boasting a captivating Arabesque design. This rug falls under the transitional style category, combining traditional elements with contemporary influences. The background color of the rug is a soothing taupe, beautifully accented by a vibrant green border. The main color that dominates the rug is a warm beige, adding a touch of elegance to its overall appearance.

Crafted with great care and precision, this rug is made using high-quality materials. Its content consists of wool pile on a cotton base, ensuring a strong and durable construction. Measuring at 5'1" X 7'0", this rug is the perfect size to enhance any living space with its allure.

The skillful Afghan Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, are the masterminds behind the creation of this rug. The wool used in its making is sourced from the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, where the mountainous terrain encourages the growth of longer staple, oily, and superior quality wool. To prepare the wool for weaving, it is carefully hand-carted and hand-spun into carpet yarn in the western region of Herat.

This rug is woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, contributing to a cottage industry type production. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot type is utilized, with a cotton warp and weft supporting the alluring wool pile. The rug's double wefting and heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensure its exceptional durability.

Drawing inspiration from centuries-old traditions, all-natural dye stuffs are employed in the creation of this rug. The result is a vibrant and harmonious color palette that adds depth and character to the design.

In the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, where skilled weavers are renowned for their high knot count weaving, most of our rugs are expertly crafted. The yarn used in this particular rug is hand-spun into single ply pern knots, showcasing the weaver's expertise and attention to detail.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162, our rug proudly displays the craftsmanship and intricacy of its creation. Through meticulous counting, we estimate that a total of 826,447 individually hand-tied knots beautify this unique piece.

Immerse yourself in the artistry and cultural heritage of Afghanistan with this remarkable rug, a masterful representation of craftsmanship and beauty.
