Introducing our exquisite rug, originated from Afghanistan and designed in the tribal Feraghan style. The background color of this rug is a soothing light blue, beautifully complemented by a rust border. Crafted from high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, this new rug boasts a generous size of 9'11" x 13'9".

The skilled weavers behind this masterpiece are predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, known for their impeccable craftsmanship. The wool used in this rug is sourced from the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, renowned for its mountainous terrain that yields longer staple oily wool – perfect for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool undergoes a meticulous process of hand carding and spinning in the western region of Afghanistan, around Herat.

Using traditional floor looms, these rugs are woven in the weavers' own homes, contributing to the cottage industry production. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique is employed, ensuring durability and longevity. The warp and weft are made of cotton, while the pile is made entirely of wool.

This rug is a testament to the centuries-old art of natural dyeing. The captivating blue color is achieved through the use of natural indigo dye. Extracted from the leaves of the indigo plant, this dye has a rich history that spans thousands of years. Its vibrant blue hues have been cherished across various cultures.

With a remarkable 80 knots per square inch (KPSI), this rug showcases the meticulous attention to detail that the weavers have invested. In fact, we have calculated that there are approximately 1,551,806 individually hand-tied knots in total.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of this Afghani Feraghan tribal rug. Its craftsmanship, heritage, and natural dyes make it a true treasure for rug enthusiasts and collectors.
