Introducing a magnificent rug from Afghanistan, this exquisite piece showcases the rich heritage and craftsmanship of Afghani weavers. Designed in the traditional Star Kazak style, this tribal rug boasts a striking combination of silver for its background and pink for its border, creating a captivating contrast.

Crafted with utmost care and attention to detail, this rug features a main color of grey, adding a touch of elegance to its overall design. Made using high-quality materials, it consists of wool on cotton, ensuring both comfort and durability. With its new condition, this rug is ready to enhance any space with its timeless beauty.

Measuring 8'2" x 10'2", this rug is a perfect size to bring warmth and sophistication to your home or office. Its origin can be traced back to Afghanistan, specifically to the skilled Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province, known for its top-quality wool due to the region's mountainous terrain.

The entire weaving process takes place in Afghanistan, with the raw Ghazni wool being transported to the western side, near Herat. There, it is meticulously hand carded and spun into carpet yarn. The weaving itself is done on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, reflecting the cottage industry type production.

Featuring an asymmetrical Persian knot type, this rug has a cotton warp and weft with an all-wool pile. Its double-wefted construction with heavily packed depressed warp weaving ensures exceptional durability, making it one of the most robust handwoven carpets available.

Adding to its allure, this rug is dyed using centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, allowing for a remarkable color palette that resonates with authenticity and tradition. The expertise and artistry of Afghani weavers shine through in every individually hand-tied knot, making this rug a true symbol of craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

With an impressive knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, we have calculated that this rug boasts an astounding 944,918 individually hand-tied knots in total. This meticulous attention to detail and dedication to the weaving process result in a rug of exceptional quality and beauty.

Bring a touch of Afghani craftsmanship and culture into your space with this stunning Star Kazak tribal rug. Its captivating design, durable construction, and rich history make it a cherished piece that will stand the test of time.
