Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan, specifically from the Afghani region. This rug showcases a captivating design known as the Star Kazak, representing the rich tribal heritage of the Afghan people.

With a background color of warm taupe and a border in a lovely pink shade, this rug features a main color tone of elegant beige, adding a touch of sophistication to any interior space.

Crafted using a combination of wool on a cotton foundation, this rug boasts a new condition, showcasing the exceptional quality of craftsmanship by skilled Afghan weavers.

Measuring 6'5" in width and 9'4" in length, this rug is sized perfectly to adorn a variety of living areas, adding both comfort and elegance to the space.

This rug is created by talented ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari subtribe. The wool used is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, where mountainous terrain provides ideal conditions for the growth of long staple, high-quality wool. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan around Herat, where it is meticulously hand carded and spun into carpet yarn, ready for weaving.

Using traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, this rug is woven with an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type. The foundation consists of cotton warp and weft, while the pile itself is made entirely of wool. The double wefted and heavily packed, depressed warp weaving technique employed ensures the highest level of durability for this handwoven masterpiece.

To add to its allure, this rug is dyed using centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, contributing to its unique and vibrant colors.

Most of these rugs are woven in Aqucha and Mazar Sharif, utilizing a two-ply yarn per knot. Our rug, with a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, exhibits exceptional craftsmanship, boasting a total of 681,576 individually hand-tied knots.

Immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of this Afghani Star Kazak rug and bring an authentic touch of tribal artistry into your home.
