Introducing a stunning piece from our collection, we present to you this exquisite Afghani rug. With its unique Harshang design and tribal style, this rug is sure to captivate any enthusiast or collector.

The background of this rug boasts a charming shade of grey, complemented by a moss-colored border. Its main color, grey, adds a sense of elegance and sophistication to the overall aesthetic.

Crafted by skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, most notably from the Esari Subtribe, this rug is made from 100% wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain of this region naturally produces longer staple, oily, and higher-quality wool, making it ideal for carpet weaving.

To create this masterpiece, the raw Ghazni wool is brought to the western side of Afghanistan, particularly around Herat. Here, the wool undergoes a meticulous process of hand carting and hand spinning into carpet yarn, ready for weaving.

Each rug is skillfully woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, showcasing the beauty of cottage industry production. The weaving technique used is an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, ensuring the rug's durability and longevity.

The foundation of this rug features a cotton warp and weft, while the pile is made entirely of wool. The double-wefted construction and heavily packed, depressed warp weaving make this rug incredibly durable, even under heavy use.

Adding to its allure, the colors in this rug are derived from all-natural dye sources, carrying a rich history of centuries-old dyeing practices.

Measuring at 2'9" x 11'10", this rug is the perfect size to adorn any room with its striking presence.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, we have calculated that this rug features a remarkable 370,344 individually hand-tied knots in total. This attention to detail and craftsmanship is truly awe-inspiring.

Indulge in the splendor of this Afghani rug, with its compelling design, historical significance, and impeccable quality. Elevate your space with this one-of-a-kind piece that effortlessly combines tradition and artistry.
