Introducing our exquisite Afghani Harshang tribal rug, with its captivating design and rich history. This rug originates from Afghanistan, specifically the Esari Subtribe, where it is carefully crafted by talented Turkmen weavers.

The background of this rug features a beautiful ivory hue, which perfectly complements the navy border. The main color of this rug is also a stunning ivory shade, adding to its charm and elegance.

Crafted using traditional techniques, this rug is made with wool on cotton content, ensuring a high-quality and durable piece. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, where the mountainous terrain produces longer staple, oily, and higher quality wool. The raw Ghazni wool is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan in Herat, where it is hand carted and hand spun into carpet yarn.

The tribal design of this rug is achieved through the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the weavers. The weaving process takes place in the weavers' own homes, following the traditional practice of cottage industry production. This not only adds a personal touch to each rug but also contributes to the preservation of traditional weaving techniques.

For centuries, natural dye stuffs have been used to impart vibrant and long-lasting colors to these rugs. The all-natural dyes add a touch of authenticity and uniqueness to this piece, making it a truly remarkable work of art.

The Karam Kul district of Andkhoi is known for its skilled weavers and higher knot count weaving. Our rug boasts an impressive knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104, resulting in a total of 428,177 individually hand-tied knots.

Add a touch of elegance and culture to your space with this stunning Afghani Harshang tribal rug. Its intricate design, rich history, and meticulous craftsmanship make it a true treasure for any rug enthusiast or collector.
