Introducing our exquisite rug from Afghanistan, known for its rich heritage in rug weaving. This particular rug features a captivating design known as the Herati pattern, showcasing the timeless beauty of tribal artistry. The background of this rug is a deep and elegant charcoal, beautifully contrasting against the delicate taupe border. The main color palette of this rug is predominantly grey, adding a sophisticated touch to any space.

Crafted with meticulous care, this rug is made using high-quality materials. The foundation consists of wool on cotton, ensuring durability and comfort underfoot. The size of this rug is 5 '1 " X 6 '10", making it an ideal fit for various areas.

To shed light on the origins of this rug, we turn to the skilled Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug originates from the Ghazni Province in South East Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain that encourages the growth of longer staple, higher quality wool. This raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and spinning into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms, these rugs are woven in the weavers' homes, embodying the essence of a cottage industry. The weaving technique employed is the asymmetrical "Persian" knot, known for its strength and durability. The warp and weft of this rug consist of cotton, while the soft and luxurious pile is made entirely of wool.

Continuing the tradition of centuries-old craftsmanship, this rug is dyed using natural, organic materials, resulting in a timeless color palette that will remain vibrant for years to come.

The artistry and skill of the weavers are truly showcased in the intricate knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, highlighting the attention to detail put into each individual knot. Based on our calculations, this rug boasts an impressive 395,315 individually hand-tied knots, a testament to the weavers' dedication and expertise.

Own a piece of Afghan heritage with this remarkable rug, perfectly blending traditional craftsmanship with modern style. Add a touch of tribal elegance to your space with this captivating masterpiece.
