Introducing our exquisite Afghani Karaja tribal rug with a background in a rich grape color and a border of vibrant pink. This rug showcases the intricate craftsmanship and artistic design that is characteristic of rugs originating from Afghanistan.
Handwoven by skilled Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug features a stunning combination of bold colors and tribal motifs. The design is woven using an asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique, adding depth and texture to the rug's overall appearance.
Crafted from high-quality wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain and ideal conditions for producing longer staple, oily wool. The raw Ghazni wool is carefully brought to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and spinning, resulting in carpet yarn of exceptional quality.
Using traditional floor looms in their own homes, the weavers meticulously create each rug, ensuring its durability and longevity. The cotton warp and weft provide a sturdy foundation for the woolen pile, creating a rug that will withstand the test of time.
This rug embraces the heritage of centuries-old natural dyeing techniques, using all-natural dyes to achieve its rich and vibrant colors. The combination of traditional weaving methods and natural dyes results in a truly authentic and unique piece.
With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, our rug boasts an impressive total of 307,751 individually hand-tied knots. This meticulous attention to detail demonstrates the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into creating this masterpiece.
Measuring at 2'9" x 9'10", this stunning rug is the perfect size for adding a touch of elegance to your living space, hallway, or any room in your home.
