Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug with a captivating design inspired by the Mamluk artistic tradition. This tribal-style rug boasts a rich navy background, complemented by a bronze border, creating a truly captivating aesthetic.

Crafted with utmost precision by skilled weavers, this rug originates from the Esari Subtribe within Afghanistan. The wool used in this masterpiece is sourced from sheep in the mountainous Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, known for producing long staple, high-quality wool ideal for carpet weaving. This raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, where it is meticulously hand carted and spun into carpet yarn.

The weaving process takes place on traditional floor looms, with each rug lovingly crafted in the weavers' own homes as part of a cottage industry. Employing the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, this rug features a cotton warp and weft, providing a sturdy foundation for the all-wool pile. The double-wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures the utmost durability for this handwoven masterpiece.

Adding to its timeless allure, this rug features centuries-old natural dye stuffs, resulting in an enchanting color palette. The captivating blue hues are derived from natural indigo dye, made from the leaves of the indigo plant (indigofera tinctoria). This ancient dye has been revered by civilizations throughout history, providing vibrant blue shades that stand the test of time.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104, our expert artisans have meticulously tied a staggering total of 351,380 knots to create this remarkable piece. This enduring craftsmanship ensures the longevity and durability of this rug, making it not only a stunning addition to any space but also a reliable investment for generations to come.

Measuring at 3'10" X 6'2", this captivating Afghani rug is a testament to the skilled craftsmanship and rich artistic heritage of Afghan weavers. Embrace the allure of tribal design and the timeless beauty of this exceptional piece, as it effortlessly enhances the elegance and charm of any interior space.
