Introducing our exquisite Serapi rug, originating from Afghani, showcasing a unique tribal design. The background of this rug beautifully exhibits a salmon hue, while the border features a captivating rust color. The main color of this rug is a vibrant orange, adding a touch of warmth to any space.

Crafted with precision and expertise, this new rug is made of wool on cotton, ensuring both comfort and durability. Measuring at an impressive size of 12'3" X 15'9", this Serapi rug commands attention with its grand presence.

The rich history behind this rug involves the skilled weavers from the Esari Subtribe, known for their exceptional craftsmanship. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep raised in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, where the mountainous terrain naturally produces longer staple, high-quality wool. This raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, specifically around Herat, where it is meticulously hand-carded and spun into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms within their own homes, these weavers create each knot with care and precision. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique is employed, ensuring the longevity and durability of this handwoven masterpiece. The rug is woven using a cotton warp and weft, while the pile is made entirely of wool.

What sets this rug apart is its incorporation of centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs. The vibrant colors are derived from these traditional dyeing methods, giving the rug a unique charm and character.

A rug of this caliber showcases the mastery of the weavers in Aqucha and Mazar Sharif, where the majority of these rugs are intricately woven. The use of 2-ply yarn per knot further enhances the quality and intricacy of the design.

Finally, we come to the truly impressive craftsmanship of this Serapi rug. With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, our calculations reveal that this rug boasts a staggering 2,195,757 individually hand-tied knots. Such attention to detail and dedication to the art of rug weaving is evident in every inch of this masterpiece.

Discover the allure and elegance of this Afghani Serapi rug, with each unique design element representing the rich cultural heritage from which it originates. Bring home a timeless piece of artistry that will captivate and inspire for generations to come.
