Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan, specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeast. This rug features the timeless and captivating Serapi design, showcasing a transitional style that seamlessly combines traditional and contemporary elements.

The background of this rug is a calming and soothing shade of blue, while the border boasts an elegant ivory color, creating a harmonious contrast. Its main color is a beautiful blue, adding a vibrant touch to any space.

Crafted with utmost care and precision, this rug is made from high-quality wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province. The mountainous terrain of the region produces wool with longer staples and a higher oil content, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and spinning into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms, skilled weavers, mainly from the Esari Subtribe of Turkmen, meticulously create this rug in their own homes. The weaving process employs an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, while the pile consists of wool.

The durability of this rug is enhanced by its double wefted construction and heavily packed, depressed warp weaving. These qualities ensure that it will withstand the test of time and daily use.

To achieve its captivating hues, this rug is dyed using centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs. In the case of the blue color, natural indigo dye stuffs are utilized. Derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, natural indigo dyes have a rich history spanning thousands of years, being cherished for their ability to produce vibrant blue hues.

With a knots per square inch measurement of 80, this rug showcases the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail invested in its creation. In total, this item boasts a staggering 869,194 individually hand-tied knots.

This Afghan Serapi rug is a true masterpiece, embodying the beauty and splendor of traditional rug weaving techniques. Its impeccable design and exquisite craftsmanship make it a cherished addition to any decor, while its durability ensures that it will be enjoyed for generations to come.
