The raw Ghazni wool is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan around Herat, where it is hand carted and hand spun into carpet yarn.

Woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, this rug showcases an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft. The double wefting and heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures the utmost durability.
