Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan, this piece features the captivating design of Bakshaish, showcasing its tribal style. With a stunning camel background and a regal blue border, this rug exudes elegance and charm. The main color of this rug is a beautiful beige, adding a touch of warmth to any space.

Crafted with precision and care, this rug is made of 100% wool on a cotton foundation, ensuring its durability and longevity. Measuring a generous size of 9'0" x 11'8", it is perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to any room.

The weavers responsible for creating this masterpiece are mainly from the Esari subtribe, known for their exceptional craftsmanship. They source their wool from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, where the mountainous terrain provides wool of superior quality. The raw Ghazni wool is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, to be hand-carted and spun into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms in their homes, these talented weavers employ the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type to create this rug. The cotton warp and weft, along with the all-wool pile, contribute to its durability. Its double-wefted construction and heavily packed depressed warp weaving make it one of the sturdiest handwoven carpets available today.

This rug is a testament to the centuries-old tradition of using all-natural dye stuffs. The captivating blue color in this masterpiece is derived from natural indigo dye stuffs, obtained from the leaves of the indigo plant. Indigo, a dye with a long and storied history, has been used by different cultures worldwide for its vibrant blue hues.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, this rug boasts a breathtaking level of detail and intricacy. In fact, we have meticulously calculated that it features a remarkable 1,194,973 individually hand-tied knots in total. This level of craftsmanship showcases the dedication and skill of the weavers behind this magnificent piece.

Discover the beauty and artistry of this Afghan rug, meticulously handcrafted by talented weavers. Its stunning design, exquisite color palette, and superior craftsmanship make it a true gem for rug enthusiasts and collectors alike. Add a touch of culture and heritage to your space with this outstanding piece.
