Introducing a magnificent rug from Afghanistan, specifically the Heriz design. This rug belongs to the tribal style, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Afghan people. The background color of the rug is a warm camel shade, while the border is a vibrant brick color. The main color scheme predominantly features a soothing beige tone.
Crafted using traditional techniques, this rug is a new piece that combines the skilled craftsmanship of Afghan weavers. The rug is made of wool on a cotton foundation, ensuring its durability and longevity. The size of this exceptional rug is 2'9" x 9'8".
The origins of this rug lie in Afghanistan, more specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeastern region of the country. This area boasts mountainous terrain that naturally produces the highest quality wool for carpet weaving. The sheep from this region provide the raw Ghazni wool, which is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat. Here, the wool is carefully hand carted and hand spun into carpet yarn, ready for weaving.
The rug is woven by skilled weavers, often from the Esari Subtribe of Turkmen weavers. In a cottage industry type production, the wool is woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes. The weaving technique used is the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, adding to the authenticity of the rug.
To ensure its exceptional durability, the rug features a cotton warp and weft, with an all-wool pile. The double-wefted and heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique employed in its creation contributes to its long-lasting quality.
This rug is a reflection of centuries-old traditions, as it is dyed using all-natural dye stuffs. The colors come to life through a meticulous dyeing process, showcasing the expertise of the weavers and the vibrancy of Afghan craftsmanship.
With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, this rug showcases the meticulous attention to detail. Based on the KPSI, we have calculated that there are a remarkable 302,537 individually hand-tied knots in this one-of-a-kind rug.
Experience the beauty of Afghan craftsmanship and the rich cultural heritage woven into this exquisite Heriz design rug.

Don’t take our word for it

Last fall, my husband and I purchased a gorgeous silk from you for our Boston Condo. Based on the quality of your rugs and customer service, we decided to visit you again to purchase rugs for our Connecticut home. Luckily, we received your postcard about the tent sale and came home with two more stunning rugs.

I can't say enough good things about this store, especially Susanne and Breanna. I shop at many rug places as I am an interior designer looking for very specific rugs all the time. No one out there compares to this store and their wonderful Sales associates. Thank you Susanne and Breanna for all your help!

Over the past year we purchased three rugs, as well as carpet from L&A. Our experience could not have been more positive and we love what we purchased.
In addition, every single person
in the showroom was beyond helpful, knowledgeable and kind. It was truly a pleasure. Thank you!

Never have I enjoyed spending money as much as at Landry & Arcari!!! Thank you so much for your attention and guidance. The rug I chose grounds the furniture and makes the living room. It is so beautiful and I really appreciate all of your help.
