The Soft Melody rug is made with a luxurious blend of imported, long-staple New Zealand wool (comprising 50-75% of the blend) and superior local or South African wool. This combination results in a shinier, more lustrous finish compared to rugs made solely from local wools. The imported New Zealand wool is meticulously hand-carded and hand-spun into yarn, supporting the local economy.

Notably, the Soft Melody rug features a distinctive yarn characteristic. Unlike common two-ply yarns, each knot of this rug incorporates a single thread, creating a thicker and denser yarn. Combined with the use of asymmetrical Persian-type knots, this contributes to a nubbier texture with pronounced knots, enhancing the rug's tactile and visual appeal.

Crafted with precision, the Soft Melody rug boasts a 6x6 quality, reflecting the intricate craftsmanship involved. Its 100% wool pile is constructed with cotton foundations, tightly spun cotton warps, and is mostly double-wefted. The pile height measures approximately 3/8 inch, providing both comfort and durability. Due to the handspun nature of the yarn, subtle color variations add to its unique aesthetic.

The Soft Melody rug's coloration is long-lasting and vibrant. Employing chromium dyes, it resists fading and maintains its hues over time. These high-quality dyes, primarily imported from Switzerland, are applied in India, combining both international and local resources.
