Introducing our exquisite Afghan Karaja Tribal Rug! This unique rug originates from Afghanistan, more specifically from the Ghazni Province, known for its mountainous terrain that yields superior quality wool. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province, ensuring the finest and longest staple fibers suitable for carpet weaving.

Crafted by skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari subtribe, this rug showcases their exceptional craftsmanship. The wool is carefully hand-carded and hand-spun into carpet yarn in Herat, located on the western side of Afghanistan. The entire production process takes place in the weavers' own homes or cottage industry settings, adding a personal touch to each rug.

The design of this tribal rug features a captivating Karaja pattern, renowned for its intricate motifs and geometric elements. The background color is a soothing lavender, while the border flaunts a lovely shade of pink. The main color scheme embraces a regal purple, exuding elegance and sophistication.

Constructed using an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, this rug exudes durability and longevity. The sturdy cotton warp and weft provide a solid foundation for the wool pile, which is double wefted and densely packed to ensure exceptional durability in daily use. The meticulous weaving technique, performed on traditional floor looms, results in a rug that stands the test of time.

Adding to its allure, this rug utilizes all-natural dye stuffs, a tradition passed down through centuries. The vibrant colors are obtained through the use of organic dyes, enhancing the rug's authenticity and beauty.

Measuring at approximately 2'8" x 5'11", this Afghan Karaja Tribal Rug is perfectly sized to complement any room. With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, our calculations indicate a staggering total of 179,564 individually hand-tied knots in this remarkable piece.

Discover the rich history and exceptional craftsmanship embodied in this Afghan Karaja Tribal Rug. Immerse yourself in the charm of its Afghani origin and experience the beauty of a true piece of woven art.
