Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and featuring a traditional Moghul design. The background of the rug is a refined shade of grey, while the border boasts a vibrant aqua color. Made from high-quality materials, this rug is sure to add elegance and sophistication to any space.

Craftsmanship: This rug is handcrafted by ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in its creation comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain of this region naturally produces longer staple, oily wool, known for its superior quality in carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, specifically Herat, where it undergoes the process of hand carting and hand spinning into carpet yarn.

Production method: The rug is woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, following the cottage industry type of production. It is woven using asymmetrical "Persian" knots, ensuring durability and longevity. The warp and weft are made of cotton, while the pile consists of luxuriously soft wool. The double wefted heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique employed in its creation further enhances the rug's durability.

Authenticity and Colors: This rug is an authentic masterpiece, boasting centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs. The skilled weavers in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, known for their high knot count weaving, predominantly produce this rug. The yarn used in its construction is hand-spun and single ply pern knot.

Size and Knot Count: Measuring at 6'10" x 6'11", this rug is the perfect addition to any room. Its intricate design is highlighted by a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162. With a staggering 1,097,744 individually hand-tied knots, this rug is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into its creation.

This rug is a true work of art, combining traditional Afghan design with exceptional craftsmanship. Its elegance, durability, and rich cultural heritage make it a valuable addition to any collection or interior space.
