Introducing our exquisite Afghani Suzani rug, a stunning piece that showcases the rich heritage and artistic tradition of Afghan weaving. Crafted with care and precision, this rug embodies the transitional style, seamlessly blending traditional and modern design elements.

Originating from Afghanistan, this rug is a testament to the craftsmanship of ethnic Turkmen weavers, most notably from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used to create this masterpiece is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain of this region produces longer staple oily wool, renowned for its superior quality and durability.

The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is meticulously hand-carded and spun into carpet yarn. The weaving process takes place on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, reflecting the cottage industry type production prevalent in the region.

The design of this rug is enriched with a charming suzani pattern, adding a touch of elegance and intricate detailing. The background features a deep charcoal hue, perfectly complemented by a medium blue border. The main color palette is dominated by a soothing shade of grey, lending a sense of serenity and versatility to the overall aesthetic.

To ensure its longevity, this rug is crafted using a double wefted technique, resulting in a densely packed, durable weave. The knots per square inch measure 80, showcasing the weavers' attention to detail and commitment to quality. By our calculations, this rug boasts an impressive 993,671 individually hand-tied knots.

Keeping in line with the authenticity of traditional rug-making, this rug is made from wool pile on a cotton warp and weft. The natural dyes used in its creation have been sourced from centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs. In particular, the captivating blue color is derived from natural indigo dye, obtained from the leaves of the indigo plant. This ancient dyeing technique, dating back thousands of years, produces vibrant and timeless blue hues.

With dimensions of 8 '3 " X 10'7 ", this stunning rug is sure to make a statement in any space it adorns. Its transitional design makes it a versatile choice, effortlessly complementing a wide range of interior styles and aesthetics.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and impeccable craftsmanship of this Afghani Suzani rug. Experience the timeless beauty and allure that only a hand-woven masterpiece can offer.
