Introducing the Afghani Tangerine Tribal Rug, a stunning piece that showcases the rich heritage and craftsmanship of Afghan weavers. This rug is characterized by its vibrant tangerine background and ivory border, creating a striking contrast that catches the eye.

Originating from Afghanistan, specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeastern region, this rug is woven by ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province, known for their high-quality, longer staple oily wool, ideal for carpet weaving.

Once the raw Ghazni wool is brought to the western side of Afghanistan near Herat, it undergoes a meticulous process. It is hand-carded and hand-spun into carpet yarn, ready to be woven on traditional floor looms. The weaving process takes place in the weavers' own homes, reflecting a cottage industry type of production.

Featuring an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug showcases the weavers' skill and attention to detail. The double-wefted heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures exceptional durability, making it perfect for high-traffic areas.

Adding to its allure, this rug is dyed using all-natural substances, having been crafted using centuries-old dyeing techniques. The result is a rug that exudes a timeless charm and a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Measuring at 8'11" x 11'9", this new rug is made of wool on cotton, providing a comfortable and resilient surface underfoot. With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, we have determined that this rug boasts a staggering total of 1,192,366 individually hand-tied knots.

Immerse your space in the captivating beauty of the Afghani Tangerine Tribal Rug. Its vibrant colors, meticulous craftsmanship, and rich heritage make it a true treasure for any discerning rug enthusiast or interior design connoisseur.
