Introducing our exquisite rug from Afghanistan! This Afghan rug features a traditional Ziegler design, showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship of ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. Made from high-quality Ghazni wool sourced from sheep in the mountainous terrain of the Ghazni Province in Southeast Afghanistan, this rug boasts longer staple and oilier wool ideal for carpet weaving.

To ensure the finest quality, the raw Ghazni wool is transported to Herat, located on the western side of Afghanistan. Here, the wool undergoes meticulous hand carding and spinning, transforming it into the perfect carpet yarn for weaving. These rugs are produced using traditional floor looms in the weavers' homes, a testament to their dedication and skill.

Crafted with an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug is a testament to the weavers' attention to detail and commitment to creating durable masterpieces. The double-wefted construction on heavily packed depressed warp weaving guarantees long-lasting quality, making it one of the most resilient handwoven carpets available.

Adding to its allure, this Afghan rug uses centuries-old natural dye stuffs to achieve its stunning color palette. The background of this particular rug is a beautiful ivory, while the border features a salmon hue, creating a harmonious contrast that adds depth and character to its design. Made from wool on cotton, this rug is a new addition to our collection.

With a size of 10'0" x 12'9", this rug presents an expansive canvas for its intricate and captivating design. Every square inch contains 80 meticulously hand-tied knots, totaling an astonishing 1,451,035 knots throughout the entire rug. This unparalleled level of detail showcases the unparalleled dedication and skill of the weavers.

This Afghan rug is a testament to the rich cultural history and unparalleled artistry of Afghan rug weaving. Its exquisite design and meticulous craftsmanship make it a perfect addition to any home or collection. Don't miss the opportunity to own this stunning piece of art!
