The wool used in this rug is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province, where the mountainous terrain naturally provides longer staple, oily wool of higher quality for carpet weaving.

The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of being hand-carded and hand-spun into carpet yarn. Using traditional floor looms in their homes, this rug is carefully handwoven by skilled artisans, resulting in a durable and long-lasting piece.

Featuring an asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique, this rug is woven with a cotton warp and weft, while the pile consists of wool. The double-wefted construction, along with the heavily packed depressed warp weaving, ensures the utmost durability, making this rug a timeless investment.
