Introducing our exquisite Pakistani rug with a captivating design known as Akstafa. This rug showcases a tribal style, featuring a navy background and a gold border that enhances its overall allure. Crafted from wool on cotton, this new rug exhibits exceptional quality and durability.

Originating from Pakistani, this rug represents the skilled craftsmanship of ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in its production comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. This region's mountainous terrain naturally yields longer staple, oily, and higher quality wool, perfect for carpet weaving.

The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, particularly Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and spinning into carpet yarn. Using traditional floor looms in their own homes, these talented weavers intricately bring this rug to life. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and cotton warp and weft (all wool pile) contribute to the exceptional durability and longevity of this masterpiece.

We are proud to present a rug that is woven by skillful weavers in Aqucha and Mazar Sharif, who meticulously use 2 ply yarn per knot to achieve its impeccable quality.

The mesmerizing blue color of this rug is derived from natural indigo dye stuffs. Indigo, obtained from the leaves of the indigo plant (indigofera tinctoria), has been used for centuries to create vibrant blue hues. Its rich history and timeless appeal make this rug truly special.

With a knots per square inch of 80, this rug demonstrates impressive attention to detail. In fact, we have calculated that our rug boasts a remarkable total of 765,185 individually hand-tied knots.

Indulge in the allure of this Pakistani Akstafa rug, where tradition and craftsmanship converge to create a timeless masterpiece.
