Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and featuring a beautiful sickle leaf design, this transitional piece is sure to elevate any space. The background is adorned in a tasteful taupe shade, while the border showcases a captivating blue hue. The main color of this rug is an elegant beige, creating a harmonious and versatile palette.

Crafted with attention to detail, this rug is made using premium materials. The wool comes from sheep in the mountainous Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, known for producing long staple, oily, and high-quality wool ideal for carpet weaving. The wool is then hand carted and spun into carpet yarn around Herat, on the western side of Afghanistan. Weavers from the ethnic Turkmen community, particularly the Esari Subtribe, meticulously create this masterpiece on traditional floor looms in their own homes, embracing a cottage industry approach.

Employing an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft (with all wool pile), this rug exhibits exceptional craftsmanship. The double weft and heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique add durability, making it a long-lasting handwoven treasure. The use of centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs further enhances its authenticity.

Measuring 7'11" x 10'1", this rug is of a substantial size, allowing it to effortlessly command attention in any room. With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, we have meticulously calculated that there are an astounding 908,478 individually hand-tied knots in this magnificent piece.

The vibrant blue color found in this rug is the result of natural indigo dye stuffs. Derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, natural indigo dyes, also known as indigofera tinctoria or true indigo, have been utilized for thousands of years across various cultures to produce stunning blue hues. This ancient dye carries a rich history and adds a touch of elegance to this already captivating rug.

Immerse yourself in the beauty and craftsmanship of this Afghan rug, a testament to the skill and dedication of its talented weavers. Elevate your space with this extraordinary piece that offers both aesthetic appeal and exceptional quality.
