Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug, showcasing the classic Harshang design. This tribal-style rug boasts a charming grey background, elegantly framed by a rust border. Crafted with attention to detail, this rug features a size of 3'1" x 10'1", making it a versatile and desirable addition to any space.

Originating from Afghanistan, this rug is a testament to the expertise of ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in its creation is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. The Ghazni Province's mountainous terrain naturally produces longer staple, oily, and higher quality wool, ideal for carpet weaving.

The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and hand spinning. This labor-intensive method ensures that every strand of wool is pristine and ready for weaving. Woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, this rug represents a true cottage industry, where skill and tradition intertwine.

Featuring an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a solid cotton warp and weft, this rug is constructed to last. Its double wefted, heavily packed, and depressed warp weaving technique guarantees durability, making it a practical choice for high-traffic areas.

To further enhance its authenticity, this rug is dyed using centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs. The result is a stunning masterpiece that exudes richness and character, adding depth to any room.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104, our calculation indicates that this rug boasts an impressive 462,136 individually hand-tied knots. This level of craftsmanship speaks to the meticulousness and dedication of the weavers.

Experience the charm and beauty of this Afghani rug, a testament to the rich heritage and artisanal skill of its makers. Its timeless design and exceptional quality make it a prized addition to any collection, effortlessly blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary style.
