Introducing our exquisite Afghan Vase Tabriz Rug, a true masterpiece of traditional design. Sourced from Afghanistan, this rug features a stunning vase tabriz pattern, showcasing the rich artistic heritage of the region. Its background color is a vibrant kelly green, beautifully complemented by a rust border, creating a visually striking piece.

Crafted using the finest materials, this rug is made of wool on cotton, ensuring both comfort and durability. Its size measures 9'0" x 11'8", providing ample coverage for any living space.

The origins of this rug can be traced back to the talented Turkmen weavers, particularly from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in its creation comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain that produces longer staple oily high-quality wool. This raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, on the western side of Afghanistan, where it undergoes hand carting and spinning into carpet yarn.

Utilizing traditional floor looms in homes and cottage industry settings, the weavers employ an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type to meticulously create this stunning piece. The rug's construction features cotton warp and weft, with a wool pile. The double wefted heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique results in a rug that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly durable.

Adding to its allure, this rug showcases centuries-old natural dye stuffs, further enhancing its authenticity and charm. The expert weavers from the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi are known for their skill and ability to achieve higher knot counts, contributing to the exceptional quality of this rug. In fact, our rug boasts an impressive knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162, resulting in a total of 2,438,721 individually hand-tied knots.

With its meticulous craftsmanship, timeless design, and rich cultural heritage, the Afghan Vase Tabriz Rug is a captivating addition to any discerning collector or rug enthusiast's space.
