Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug featuring the beautiful Bakshaish Willow design, a true testament to tribal artistry. With a rustic background and a captivating blue border, this rug showcases the rich red main color, creating an eye-catching centerpiece for any space.

Crafted by skilled weavers, primarily hailing from the Esari Subtribe, this rug is made from the finest quality wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. This mountainous region provides the ideal conditions for the production of longer staple, oily wool, ensuring exceptional durability and a luxurious feel. The raw Ghazni wool is carefully transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and spinning to prepare it for weaving.

Using traditional floor looms in their own homes, these talented artisans create this masterpiece with an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type. The rug features a cotton warp and weft, while the all-wool pile is double wefted and densely packed, resulting in the most resilient handwoven carpet available today.

Embracing centuries-old traditions, this rug is naturally dyed using all-natural substances. The captivating blue hues are derived from natural indigo, sourced from the leaves of the indigo plant. True indigo has been a staple dye for thousands of years, cherished for its vibrant shades across various cultures. Complementing the blue, the rug also features a stunning red color, achieved through the use of madder root dyes. Madder root, cultivated and used for centuries worldwide, offers warm and cool red, orange, pink, and brown tones.

With a knots per square inch (KSPI) of 80, we estimate that this rug boasts an impressive total of 298,429 individually hand-tied knots. This meticulous craftsmanship ensures the longevity and intricate beauty of this exceptional piece.

Measuring at 2'8" x 9'10", this new rug is an exceptional addition to any collector's repertoire or an ideal choice for those seeking to bring elegance and authenticity into their living spaces.

Experience the allure of this Afghani rug with its Bakshaish Willow design, crafted with precision and care by talented artisans. Bring the beauty of tribal artistry, elegant colors, and meticulous craftsmanship into your home with this remarkable piece.
