Introducing our exquisite rug, this beautiful piece originates from Afghanistan, specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeastern region. The design of this rug is inspired by the traditional Bakshaish style, showcasing a tribal aesthetic. The background is a sophisticated taupe color, complemented by a charming peach border. The main color theme of this rug is a delightful beige shade, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Crafted with the utmost care, this rug is made using high-quality materials. The content consists of wool on a cotton foundation, ensuring durability and longevity. With a size of 9'2" x 12'10", this rug offers ample space to enhance any room it adorns.

The weaving process of this rug involves skilled Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province, where the mountainous terrain naturally produces longer staple oily wool of exceptional quality. The raw Ghazni wool is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is meticulously hand carted and hand spun into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms within their own homes, the weavers create this rug with an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type. The warp and weft are made of cotton, while the pile is entirely wool. The weaving technique includes a double weft and heavily packed depressed warp, resulting in a robust structure that guarantees long-lasting durability.

The rug's captivating colors are achieved through centuries-old, all-natural dye substances, lending unparalleled depth and richness to its design. The weaving centers for these rugs are predominantly Aqucha and Mazar Sharif, where two-ply yarn is meticulously employed per knot.

With a remarkable 80 knots per square inch (KPSI), our rug showcases the intricate artistry and craftsmanship that went into its creation. Based on this KPSI, we calculated that this rug boasts an impressive total of 1,338,810 individually hand-tied knots.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of this Afghani Bakshaish tribal rug, a testament to the rich cultural heritage and skilled artisans of Afghanistan. Add a touch of elegance and sophistication to your space with this stunning piece.
