Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug, featuring the captivating "Big Fish" design. This contemporary masterpiece showcases a medium blue background adorned with a grape border, creating a striking and visually appealing contrast. Crafted with precision and skill, this rug is truly a work of art.

Originating from the talented Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug is made from 100% wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain of this region naturally produces longer staple, oily wool, renowned for its superior quality in carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, where it undergoes the traditional process of hand carting and hand spinning, transforming it into exquisite carpet yarn.

Using asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug is meticulously woven on traditional floor looms. The double wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures durability, making this rug a long-lasting investment.

With a size of 6'2" x 8'11", this rug boasts a vibrant blue hue achieved through the use of natural indigo dye. Indigo, derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, has been utilized by cultures worldwide for thousands of years, offering rich and vibrant shades of blue.

Every square inch of this rug is adorned with 80 meticulously hand-tied knots, resulting in an impressive 625,784 individually crafted knots in total. Such attention to detail and craftsmanship exemplify the dedication and expertise poured into every aspect of this rug's creation.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of this Afghani rug, a testament to the centuries-old tradition of natural dyeing, masterful weaving techniques, and the artistic expression of the rug-making craft.
