Introducing our unique rug from Afghanistan, showcasing a stunning honeycomb design in a transitional style. The background of this rug comes in a calming aqua shade, accentuated by a taupe border, while the main color features a rich teal tone. Crafted with new wool on a cotton base, this rug offers a combination of durability and comfort.

Originating from Afghanistan, this rug is created by skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in its creation is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, where the mountainous terrain provides high-quality, longer staple, and oily wool ideal for carpet weaving. The raw wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is hand carted and spun into carpet yarn.

Traditional floor looms are utilized for weaving this rug, which takes place in the weavers' homes, resembling a cottage industry. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, paired with a cotton warp and weft (wool pile), ensures a durable and long-lasting creation. With a double wefted heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique, this rug is built to withstand the test of time.

A centuries-old tradition, all-natural dye stuffs are used to bring color to this exquisite rug. The intricate craftsmanship can be seen through its knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104, resulting in a total of 2,060,900 individually hand-tied knots. This meticulous attention to detail confirms the exceptional quality and artistry of this rug.

The Karam Kul district of Andkhoi is known for its skilled weavers, renowned for their higher knot count weaving techniques. For this particular rug, hand-spun single ply pern knot yarn was utilized, elevating the rug's quality even further.

With a size of 10'1" x 13'9", this rug is perfect for adding a touch of elegance to your living space. Its vibrant colors and captivating honeycomb design are sure to make a statement, whether placed in a traditional or contemporary setting.

Embrace the beauty and craftsmanship of this Afghan rug, meticulously handcrafted by talented artisans. Its unique features and superior materials make it the perfect choice for those seeking a truly exceptional rug for their home or office. Experience the charm of Afghan craftsmanship with our stunning honeycomb rug.
