Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug, featuring the timeless Mina Khani design. This tribal-style rug showcases a delightful combination of grape background and a coral border, radiating a unique and vibrant aesthetic. Crafted with precision and care, this rug is a true testament to the artistry of Afghani weavers.

Originating from the talented Turkmen weavers, many of whom belong to the Esari Subtribe, this rug is an epitome of their craftsmanship. The wool used in creating this masterpiece comes from the Ghazni Province in Southeast Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain that produces longer staple, oily, and high-quality wool specifically suited for carpet weaving.

The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat. Here, it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and hand spinning, transforming into luxurious carpet yarn. The weaving takes place on traditional floor looms, within the weavers' homes, embracing the essence of cottage industry production.

Using the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug ensures both strength and durability. The double wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique further enhances its resilience, resulting in a rug that can withstand the test of time.

Adding to its allure, this rug features all-natural dye stuffs, reminiscent of centuries-old traditional methods. The vibrant purple shades are achieved through these meticulous and time-honored dyeing techniques, giving the rug a truly authentic and captivating appearance.

Measuring at 8'2" x 10'2", this rug is meticulously crafted, with an impressive 80 knots per square inch. Calculations based on the knots per square inch reveal a staggering number of 944,918 individually hand-tied knots, showcasing the immense effort and skill invested in its creation.

Immerse yourself in the rich culture of Afghanistan with this stunning Afghani rug, representing the remarkable craftsmanship and history of the region. Embrace the unique blend of traditional design, vibrant colors, and impeccable artistry that sets this rug apart.
