Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug, featuring the timeless Polonaise design. This traditional rug boasts a stunning mauve background and a forest green border, which beautifully contrasts with the main color of pink. Crafted using high-quality materials, this rug is made of wool on cotton.

With dimensions of 8'1" x 10'4", this rug is perfect for adding elegance and warmth to any living space. Its durable construction ensures that it will withstand the test of time, making it a valuable addition to your collection.

Originating from Afghanistan, specifically the South East region and the Ghazni Province, this rug showcases the skill and craftsmanship of ethnic Turkmen weavers, many of whom belong to the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province, known for producing longer staple, oily wool that is ideal for carpet weaving.

The wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and spinning to create the high-quality carpet yarn used in the rug. The weaving process takes place in the weavers' own homes using traditional floor looms, contributing to the cottage industry-style production.

Using the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug is meticulously crafted. The double-wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures its durability and longevity, making it a wise investment.

To enhance its authenticity and beauty, natural dye stuffs sourced from centuries-old traditions are used during the dyeing process.

Additionally, our rug has a knots-per-square-inch (KPSI) of 80, resulting in a precise and intricate design. By calculating the KPSI, we determined that this rug is composed of an impressive 950,594 individually hand-tied knots.

With its rich history, superior craftsmanship, and elegant design, this Afghani Polonaise rug is a true masterpiece that will enhance the aesthetic appeal of any room.
