Introducing our exquisite Afghan Serapi Tribal Rug, hailing from the glorious land of Afghanistan. This rug features a captivating design with an afghani origin, showcasing the skill and artistry of the ethnic Turkmen weavers, mostly from the Esari Subtribe.

Crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, this rug is made from high-quality wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain in this region produces wool with longer staple and higher oil content, perfect for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, specifically around Herat, where it is hand carded and spun into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms in their homes, the weavers employ an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type to meticulously create this stunning rug. With a cotton warp and weft and an all-wool pile, this rug ensures both durability and comfort. The double-wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique adds to its longevity, making it one of the most durable handwoven carpets available.

This extraordinary rug is dyed using all-natural substances, including centuries-old natural dye stuffs. The mesmerizing medium blue background and ivory border are derived from natural indigo dyes. The indigo plant has been used for thousands of years worldwide to produce vibrant blue hues, and we are proud to bring you a rug that exemplifies this ancient tradition.

Measuring 3'5" X 5'1", this Afghan Serapi Tribal Rug is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. With 80 knots per square inch meticulously hand-tied by skilled artisans, the total knot count amounts to an impressive 197,660.

Elevate your space with the rich heritage and timeless beauty of this Afghan Serapi Tribal Rug. Immerse yourself in the history and artistry behind this breathtaking piece, confident in its authenticity and unparalleled quality.
