Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug with a captivating Khotan Garden design.

Originating from Afghanistan, this traditional-style rug boasts a sky background with a striking red border. The main color of this rug is a deep blue, adding depth and richness to any space.

Crafted with care, this rug is made of wool on cotton, providing a luxurious and durable foundation. Measuring 2'8" x 8'2", it is the perfect size to adorn your floor with elegance.

The talented ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe, bring their expertise to every intricately woven thread. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. Here, the mountainous terrain naturally produces longer staple, oily, and higher-quality wool, ideal for carpet weaving.

The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it is meticulously hand carted and spun into carpet yarn. Woven on traditional floor looms in people's own homes or cottage industry setups, each rug is a testament to the dedication and skill of the weavers.

Featuring an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a combination of cotton warp and weft with an all-wool pile, this rug showcases the finest craftsmanship. The double wefted heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures exceptional durability, making it a lasting investment for your home.

To enhance its timeless appeal, this rug is dyed using centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs. The captivating blue hues come from natural indigo dye sourced from the leaves of the indigo plant. The color red, on the other hand, is derived from natural madder root dyes. These dyes, obtained from the roots of the madder plant, have been cultivated and utilized for centuries, producing a range of warm and cool red, orange, pink, and brown shades.

With 80 knots per square inch (KPSI), our meticulous craftsmanship shines through, resulting in a total of 247,849 individually hand-tied knots. This level of detail and precision ensures an exceptional quality that will add charm and sophistication to any space.

Immerse yourself in the beauty and craftsmanship of this Afghani rug. Its rich history, traditional design, and expert construction make it a remarkable addition to any collection or room.
