Introducing our exquisite Afghan Veramin rug, a true masterpiece originating from Afghanistan. This tribal-style rug showcases traditional design elements that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. The background of this rug is a deep navy hue, beautifully contrasting with the vibrant red border.

Crafted by skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug exemplifies their exceptional craftsmanship. Made from all-natural wool obtained from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain, this rug boasts a higher quality and longer staple yarn.

The wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan near Herat, where it is meticulously hand carded and spun into carpet yarn. Using traditional floor looms, this rug is woven in the weavers' own homes, following age-old techniques passed down through generations.

Employing an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and featuring a cotton warp and weft, this rug is constructed to be durable and long-lasting. With its double wefted, heavily packed, and depressed warp weaving, it is engineered to withstand the test of time.

Featuring centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs, the captivating blue color in this rug is derived from the leaves of the indigo plant. Indigo dye has been utilized by humans for thousands of years and is renowned for producing vibrant blue hues that are both timeless and enchanting.

The red color in this rug originates from natural madder root dye, obtained from the Rubia tinctorum plant. This type of dye has a long history of use in various cultures worldwide, and it can produce a splendid range of warm and cool red, orange, pink, and brown shades.

With a knot density of 80 knots per square inch, our meticulous calculations estimate that this rug contains an impressive total of 603,173 individual hand-tied knots. Its size measures 6'0" x 8'10", making it a substantial and impactful piece for any space.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Afghan Veramin rug, meticulously crafted with passion and artistry by skilled weavers. This rug effortlessly combines traditional design, exquisite craftsmanship, and all-natural materials to create an heirloom-quality piece that will add warmth, character, and elegance to your home or collection.
