Introducing our exquisite rug from Afghanistan! This rug showcases the timeless beauty of Arabesque design, adding a touch of tribal charm to any space. The background color is a soothing celery shade, while the border features a delicate lavender hue. Crafted with care, this rug is made of high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, ensuring both durability and comfort.

Originating from the Afghan region, which is renowned for its skilled weavers, this rug is a testament to the expertise of the Ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, where the mountainous terrain provides the perfect conditions for producing longer staple, oily, and higher quality wool. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it is meticulously hand carted and hand spun into carpet yarn, ready for weaving.

Using traditional floor looms in their own homes, these skilled artisans weave this rug with an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, further enhancing its authenticity. The warp and weft are composed of cotton, while the pile is made entirely of wool. The double wefted construction, along with the heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique, ensures the utmost durability, resulting in a handwoven carpet that will withstand the test of time.

What truly sets this rug apart is the use of centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs. The colors achieved through these traditional methods add a profound richness and depth to the design, making each rug truly unique.

This rug hails primarily from the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, where skilled weavers are known for their meticulous craftsmanship and higher knot count weaving. The yarn used is hand spun using a single ply pern knot, further exemplifying the attention to detail and quality of workmanship.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104, our calculations reveal that this rug boasts an impressive 1,545,909 individually hand-tied knots. This intricate level of detail showcases the dedication and skill of the weavers in creating a masterpiece that will grace your home for years to come.

Immerse yourself in the allure of this Afghani rug, expertly crafted with pride and dedication. Transform your living space with its captivating beauty and experience the luxury of owning a true work of art.
