Introducing our exquisite Afghani Serapi Tribal Rug, boasting a rich rust background and a navy border. This rug showcases the timeless design and craftsmanship of the afghan region. Made from high-quality wool on cotton, this new rug measures an impressive size of 10'11" x 14'10".

Handwoven by skilled Turkmen weavers, mostly from the Esari Subtribe, in the mountainous Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, this rug features wool sourced from sheep in the region, known for its long staple and oily nature, perfect for carpet weaving. The wool is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it is hand carted and hand-spun into carpet yarn.

Using a traditional floor loom, each rug is meticulously woven in the weaver's own home, contributing to the cottage industry-style production. With an asymmetrical Persian knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug is double wefted and features a heavily packed, depressed warp weaving, ensuring exceptional durability.

The vibrant red color in this rug is derived from natural madder root dyes. Madder roots, scientifically known as Rubia tinctorum, have a long history of use as a dyeing agent and have been cultivated for centuries. These natural dyes can produce a range of warm and cool red, orange, pink, and brown shades, adding depth and character to the rug.

With 80 knots per square inch and a total of 1,842,879 individually hand-tied knots, this rug exemplifies the intricate artistry and attention to detail. Its centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs further enhance its authenticity and charm, making it a remarkable addition to any space.

Indulge in the timeless elegance of this Afghani Serapi Tribal Rug, a true testament to the rich heritage and impeccable craftsmanship of the Afghan region. Transform your space with the captivating allure of this masterpiece.
