Faithful reproduction is tricky business. When it comes to reproducing antique and vintage rugs, there are so many factors to consider beyond just design and color. Warp and weft material, Where the wool is sourced, knot type and washing processes are details that might not be apparent at first glance but end up making the difference between a reproduction and a knock off.

Some time in late 2021 Jeff and I stumbled across a new quality (quality=”weave” in the rug world) coming out of Rajasthan Provence, India that peaked our interest. A chunky 6/6 weave with afghan wool pile, the prototypes were sheared low and heavily washed. The rugs looked authentically time worn but still felt sturdy.

“The concept behind the Rajasthan collection is expanding the versatility of the vintage look. It’s for when you fall in love with a 4 x 6 but need it in a 14 x 16”
