Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug, featuring the captivating design of Kuba. Boldly tribal in style, this rug boasts a charcoal background adorned with an ivory border, perfectly complementing its main color of grey. Crafted with utmost care, this rug is new and made with a wool pile on a cotton foundation.

Originating from skilled Turkmen weavers, particularly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug showcases the use of top-quality wool sourced from the Ghazni Province in Southeast Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain of this region naturally yields longer staple and higher quality wool, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, specifically Herat, where it is meticulously hand-carted and spun into carpet yarn.

The weaving process takes place on traditional floor looms, predominantly in the weavers' own homes or through cottage industry production. Employing an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, the weavers skillfully create the intricate patterns of this rug. The cotton warp and weft, combined with the all-wool pile, contribute to its exceptional durability.

To achieve its stunning array of colors, this rug utilizes centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs. The result is a visually captivating masterpiece that enhances any space it graces.

With the majority of these rugs woven in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, renowned for their skilled weavers and higher knot count, our rug stands out with a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104. Through meticulous calculations, we have determined that this rug boasts an impressive total of 533,262 individually hand-tied knots.

Immerse yourself in the rich heritage and artistry of this Afghani Kuba tribal rug, a testament to the expertise of Turkmen weavers and the timeless beauty of handwoven carpets.
