Introducing our exquisite Afghan rug, boasting an elegant design drawing inspiration from the Arabesque style, with a tribal touch. The background of this rug is a captivating silver, skillfully complemented by a striking blue border. Its main color is a captivating shade of grey, adding a touch of sophistication to any space.

Originating from Afghanistan, this rug was meticulously crafted by talented Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The wool used in its creation is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, renowned for producing high-quality wool due to its mountainous terrain. This raw Ghazni wool is meticulously hand-carded and spun into carpet yarn on the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat.

Hand-woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, this rug showcases the timeless beauty of the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type. Its foundation is made of cotton warp and weft, while the luxurious pile is crafted from all-natural, woolen fibers. The double-wefted construction and heavily packed, depressed warp weaving technique make this piece exceptionally durable.

With a nod to the centuries-old art of rug-making, this rug features all-natural dye stuffs, resulting in its captivating colors. The mesmerizing blue hues are derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, known as natural indigo dye stuffs. This ancient dye has a rich history, dating back thousands of years, and has been cherished by various cultures worldwide for its ability to produce vibrant blue shades.

Measuring at 3 '3 " x 5 '0 ", this Afghan rug showcases a remarkable knots per square inch count of 104. With our meticulous calculations, we estimate that this rug boasts an impressive 241,548 individually hand-tied knots in total. Each knot represents the skill and dedication of the talented weavers who brought this timeless piece to life.

Add a touch of elegance, heritage, and durability to your space with this stunning Afghan rug, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. Transform your home with the allure of Afghani tradition and elevate your decor to new heights of sophistication.
