Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and boasting a captivating Arabesque design. This tribal-style rug features a background of medium blue, beautifully complemented by a pistachio border. Crafted with utmost care, the rug consists of high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, ensuring longevity and an excellent feel.
The weavers of this magnificent rug are predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, using wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. This region's mountainous terrain yields wool of superior quality, thanks to its longer staple length and naturally oily properties, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is transported to Herat on the western side of Afghanistan, where a meticulous process of hand-carding and hand-spinning transforms it into carpet yarn.
The rug is meticulously woven on traditional floor looms, within the weavers' own homes or as part of the cottage industry. Employing the asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique and featuring a cotton warp and weft, this rug showcases the expertise and dedication of its creators. The double-wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique employed ensures exceptional durability, making it one of the sturdiest handwoven carpets available today.
This timeless masterpiece adopts centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, with the mesmerizing blue tones derived from natural indigo. The indigofera tinctoria, or true indigo plant, serves as the source of this ancient dye, which has embellished human creations with vibrant blues for thousands of years. The result is a rug that radiates a sense of history and cultural significance.
With a remarkable 80 knots per square inch, our rug boasts an impressive 263,333 individually hand-tied knots, showcasing the painstaking craftsmanship and dedication poured into its creation. Measuring 2 '10" X 8 '2 ", this one-of-a-kind rug will undoubtedly grace any space with its allure and beauty.
Immerse yourself in the elegance and allure of our Afghan Arabesque tribal rug. Its rich heritage, exquisite craftsmanship, and timeless design will undoubtedly make it the focal point of any interior.

Don’t take our word for it

Last fall, my husband and I purchased a gorgeous silk from you for our Boston Condo. Based on the quality of your rugs and customer service, we decided to visit you again to purchase rugs for our Connecticut home. Luckily, we received your postcard about the tent sale and came home with two more stunning rugs.

I can't say enough good things about this store, especially Susanne and Breanna. I shop at many rug places as I am an interior designer looking for very specific rugs all the time. No one out there compares to this store and their wonderful Sales associates. Thank you Susanne and Breanna for all your help!

Over the past year we purchased three rugs, as well as carpet from L&A. Our experience could not have been more positive and we love what we purchased.
In addition, every single person
in the showroom was beyond helpful, knowledgeable and kind. It was truly a pleasure. Thank you!

Never have I enjoyed spending money as much as at Landry & Arcari!!! Thank you so much for your attention and guidance. The rug I chose grounds the furniture and makes the living room. It is so beautiful and I really appreciate all of your help.
