Introducing our magnificent rug, originating from Afghanistan, this exquisite piece showcases the captivating Bakshaish Cypress design. Sporting a tribal style, this rug features a vibrant grape-colored background, adorned with a light blue border and a main color of regal purple. Its dimensions measure 8'5" X 11'11", making it a marvelous addition to any space.

Crafted by skilled weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug boasts a remarkable composition. The wool used in its creation hails from the Ghazni Province in South East Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain that yields longer staple, oily, and higher-quality wool. After the raw Ghazni wool is transported to the western side of Afghanistan near Herat, it goes through a meticulous process of hand carting and hand spinning to become carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms within their own homes, the weavers employ an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type to bring this rug to life. The cotton warp and weft provide a strong foundation, while the wool pile offers a soft and luxurious touch. With double-wefted and heavily packed depressed warp weaving, this rug boasts exceptional durability that ensures its longevity.

Drenched in all-natural dye stuffs, reminiscent of centuries-old practices, this rug exudes authentic charm. The mesmerizing blue hues, derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, highlight the rich history of natural indigo dyes. Utilized by various cultures worldwide, these dyes result in vibrant and captivating shades of blue.

Impressively, this rug showcases a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162, resulting in a total of 2,329,536 individually hand-tied knots. Such meticulous craftsmanship guarantees the utmost attention to detail, making each piece a true work of art.

Embrace the allure of Afghan craftsmanship with this remarkable rug, a testament to the skill and dedication of its weavers. Enliven your space with its vibrant colors, intricate design, and enduring quality.
