Introducing our exquisite rug from Afghanistan, this piece showcases the esteemed Bakshaish Willow design in a tribal style. The background color of this rug is a warm grey, beautifully complemented by a rust-colored border. Crafted with utmost care and precision, the main color of this rug is a stunning grey.

The rug measures an impressive 6'0" x 6'1" in size, perfect for adding warmth and character to any living space. Made from high-quality materials, the content of this rug is wool on cotton.

Originating from Afghanistan, this rug holds a rich history and cultural significance. The wool used in its production is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province, known for their longer staple and higher quality wool. The wool is hand carted and hand spun around Herat, on the western side of Afghanistan, where it is transformed into carpet yarn. Skilled weavers, mostly from the Esari Subtribe, then work diligently on traditional floor looms in their own homes, creating a truly authentic and artisanal piece.

Using an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, the rug is woven with a cotton warp and weft, with all-wool pile. The weaving technique involves double wefting and a heavily packed, depressed warp, ensuring durability and long-lasting quality.

This rug stands the test of time with centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, showcasing the expertise of the weavers and their commitment to traditional production methods. With an impressive knots per square inch of 80, our rug boasts a total of 415,392 individually hand-tied knots, a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each piece.

Experience the allure and artistry of this Afghan rug, a true masterpiece that will enhance any interior space.
